Growing up on a farm in rural farm in southern Ireland, getting her Hogwarts letter was a bit of double culture shock for Fionna. Coming from a muggle family, entering the wizarding world took almost as much adjusting for her as entering an upper class private boarding school did. But as she's adjusted to it in the years since, she hasn't lost that attachment to her roots, and enjoys the mundanity of home life as much as she does the excitement of school. Her upbringing also drew her almost immediately to care for magical creatures, and she hopes to go into magizoology and conservation after graduating. Kind and hugely sympathetic, Fionna is more than willing to give even the most monstrous of creatures the benefit of the doubt, and has a very difficult time seeing any as innately evil. She also extends that same understanding to people, not giving much thought to her status as one of the few muggle-born witches currently accepted into Hogwarts. She thinks the segregation creates unnecessary divides, and is sure that with time, the distinction between pure-blood and muggle will be a thing of the past.
